About
I created mysugars.com to solve a basic daily problem of mine: I needed a way to easily record my blood sugars with as little an interruption to the rest of my life as possible. I'm always on the computer and often send text messages, so a simple interface for both devices suited my needs perfectly. Perhaps I'm young or lazy or some combination of the two, but the process of pulling out a pen and log book to record my sugars or going through the hassle that is the meter-to-computer import just never quite fit the bill (although this latter step
may be improving soon). The simple ability to test my sugar in the morning and text the data into this site while walking to work has left me with a much better personal record.
Diabetics should have a spot to quickly record sugars once and forget about any log book or complicated import...and their data should always be readily available from any computer with an internet connection. Obviously, I also think this service should be free.
Historical graphs of my data were the next logical step, and after just under 6 months of submitting my sugars to this site and keeping an eye on the trends, I've seen an enormous improvement in my blood sugars.
I've posted a small version of my 6 month chart (as of the time of writing, 3/4/2007) below:

I hope that the main
diabetes discussion board will become a place to learn about the disease and, given my affinity for software and such, a source of information about the upcoming technological side of treatment and diabetic care.
I readily admit that my willingness to use this site and the benefit I've received so far are probably intimately tied to the fact that I'm responsible for mysugars.com. If you have any suggestions or criticisms, feel free to
talk about mysugars.com or you can
email me directly...and if anyone else has any luck using this site for their own benefit, I'd love to hear about your experience.
